I currently am a counseling intern at Complete Behavioral Health and completing my Master’s program in Clinical Counseling at Bellevue University. I have worked extensively in mental health working with various populations such as those diagnosed with a severe persistent mental illness (SPMI), residential/ secondary addiction treatment centers, child welfare, juvenile probation, and with crisis response programs. I specialize in working with adolescents, adults, and couples utilizing culturally sensitive and trauma focused practices into client sessions. I seek to integrate multiple modalities such as CBT, DBT, Emotionally Focused, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy approaches into work with clients. Working to embrace the differences, challenges, and the unexpected that life throws at us assisting clients to find the balance and clarity to live their best life. With working with a variety of clients, this quote encompasses my approach to trauma and change. "Trauma creates change you don't choose. Healing is about creating the change that you DO choose."
This quote allows for depth and connection between change, healing and trauma. While we navigate through change, healing, and trauma we seek deeper meaning and understandings of our own selves within our existence and displays of resilience. In creating what we do CHOOSE, whether it be CHANGE through our thought processes, relationships, decisions, or behavior the goals grow with you and from you.
